Earth Built Sun Powered
Entrance to the main level with beautiful jungle and ocean views
The house is three levels. The first level is the bodega or storage room that houses the solar electric system. The second level is the studio apartment, a private, self-contained apartment with one bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room. Above the studio is the main house with an amazing palapa structure. The home is built with wood, brick, bamboo and resilient concrete. Casa Catorce has lovely view of the ocean, jungle flora and fauna.
Living Room from Main Bedroom
Casa Catorce palapa house is located at the end of our neighborhood road and slightly up the slope, affording it privacy and a connection to the back-forest land preserve and trail system.
Arriving at the house-in-the treetops, you discover a completely open floor plan under a wood and palapa roof design, a structure that is inviting refreshing breeze to flow thru the dwelling in every season. If you enjoy bird watching, the openness invites constant bird visits.
Open Air Kitchen under Palapa
Just outside of the house is the trailhead to our community’s hiking paths which are located alongside a neighboring forest reserve. Here one can access hikes on various pathways to the yoga deck atop TierraLuz’s highest point and enjoy an unimpeded panoramic view. Located below the deck is our community water cistern which distributes clean, delicious, well-water to the TierraLuz community that is pumped to our storage with a Solar Powered Pump.
